Smog Pump Idler Bracket

Author: CFF

A short while back I received an urgent call from Hugh Milligan. He was putting the smog equipment back on his recently purchased ’75 convertible and found that the smog pump idler bracket and sheave were missing (used to adjust the belt tension).

This became a major problem when I found out that Jensen doesn’t list this part in any of its catalogs and, since it wasn’t a Chrysler part, I offered to let Hugh , a mechanical engineer, borrow one off my car so he could manufacture one.

Of course, I did stipulate that in return he would supply the Club with a mechanical drawing so that the next person to need one wouldn’t have the same problem. (See Figure 1)
